John Shipley will be operating as our team physio and will be focusing on a variety of things relating to player health, fitness, injury prevention and recovery, among many other tasks. We are incredibly fortunate to have someone of John pedigree.
John Shipley is a certified Emergency Medical Responder and licensed Physical Therapist who graduated from University of Delaware, the top-ranked Physical Therapy program in the United States. After graduating from Delaware, he completed an accredited Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital. During his residency, John worked with recreational to professional caliber athletes of all ages. John has a passion for providing high quality, evidence-based care to all of his patients while working in the clinic at Johns Hopkins, and he has a specific interest in providing interventions to reduce the risk of injury and optimize performance in youth sports.
John is a Maryland native and played youth soccer for local clubs in the Great Baltimore region. He later went on to play collegiate soccer at Geneva College and club soccer for the University of Delaware.
Not only does John provide us with a wealth of knowledge and experience with his credentials as a Physician but with a background as a college soccer player and lover of the game he will be able to treat our players specifically in the context of the game of soccer as well as provide knowledge that will only further enhance each players experience and overall development.
